Medical Science Liaison
AbbVie
In my role as a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), I was the point of contact for neurologists seeking scientific context, background and information about migraine medication. It was a non-commercial field-based role. I learned a great deal about the compliance and regulations pharmaceutical companies must adhere to, as well as the internal division of commercial and non-commercial roles

Product Specialist
BIOKÉ/ Cell Signaling Technology
In my final period at BIOKÉ, I was Key Account Manager for 7 key accounts, alongside a Product Specialist role in which I was responsible for several instrumentation suppliers in the BeNeLux. Insights from my market research helped bring a new equipment supplier on board, whose products are still selling successfully today.
(Key) Account Manager
BIOKÉ/ Cell Signaling Technology
As an Account Manager, I was responsible for the northern half of the Netherlands. Major cities in my area included Leiden, Amsterdam, Utrecht and Groningen. I managed 150 accounts and was responsible for 13 suppliers. In this role, I worked closely with the order department, warehouse, finance department and suppliers. I was responsible for the entire sales process, from A to Z.
Inside Sales Specialist
BIOKÉ/ Cell Signaling Technology
Alongside my role as Technical Support Specialist, I also worked as an Inside Sales Specialist. I supported an outside sales colleague by preparing quotations and entering and processing NGS software sales. This was my first experience with the administrative side of sales.
Technical Support Specialist
BIOKÉ/ Cell Signaling Technology
My first official role after graduating was as a Technical Support Specialist. I helped lab researchers with questions about BIOKÉ’s reagents and equipment. In this role, I learned about a wide range of lab techniques and how to communicate with customers. I held this position for 6 months.

Medical Genomics Conferences Support
Biotexcel
Shortly after graduating, I worked briefly with Biotexcel, a company that organised Medical Genomics Conferences abroad. I helped with the general organisation at the conferences on site. I attended their conferences in Glasgow, Cambridge, Brussels and Lund. This is where I laid the foundations for my (international) network in the life sciences industry.
